I've noticed that a lot of people here do not think outside of the box. They follow the manuals and are flustered when the situation changes and have to think for themselves.
Awhile back, Satoshi and I were in a cafe. The waitress came to take our order. I ordered an iced tea with lemon. She said, "okay, do you want it hot or iced?" I repeated that I wanted an iced tea with lemon. She then asked, "do you want milk or lemon with that?" Satoshi at that point was quite snippy with the waitress and repeated that I wanted an iced tea with lemon.
Then there were the time at the convenience store, I wanted 20 yen stamps. The guy at the register said, "I only have 10 yen stamps". I said to the guy, "well, can't I purchase 2?" He replied, "oh..."
The girl at the bakery. I bought a sandwich and asked for them to put a sticker on it . (Putting a sticker on things indicates that you don't want a package for the item.) After she puts the sticker onto the sandwich, she asks me, "do you want a package for it?"....
The check-out at the supermarket. I put my own shopping bag into my basket. After ringing up all of my items and placing my items and shopping bag into another basket. The girl asks me, "do you need a shopping bag?" I told her, "no, I brought my own." She then came across the sandwich that I bought (in the example above). She says to me, "we don't sell these." I told her, "I know, I bought it from the bakery."
The guy at the post office. I had a little package which fits stamps. I brought it to put the new stamps that I was purchasing into. The guy threw it away and put what I bought into a huge plastic package. I think if most of these people had to pay for the package that they give out, they wouldn't and would think more about the environment....or maybe not.
Have I made you all laugh? I was rolling my eyes as I was recounting all of this...
Hope you all have a great week.
