made in japan

Saw these drying blocks called "soil" at a zakka (knick-knack) shop and my friend, Kazumi gave some to me recently. (Thank you!)

Just break off a square like a chocolate bar and put it into a bottle of sugar, salt, whatever you want to keep dry.

They have various sizes to fit different containers.

Oh and I like that these are made in Japan too.

Great idea. Does it say for how long the bars last?

Interesting! It's definitely helpful for humid places! I remember potato chips etc go stale so quickly in Japan (but in California they surprisingly last long...).

the saleslady didn't say how long they would last, Rowena, though she did mention that if they got moist/wet, just dry them out and they can be used again.

indeed Nami :)

Take care you two.

Those are neat. I guess it's the opposite of those bear pieces that keep brown sugar moist. I need to get some of those now since we live in Hawaii.

Interesting- and they look cute!

Interesting! Could you fit one in a larger spice bottle? My garlic powder and onion powder are always sticking.
