A real shame for the food as I hate seeing edibles go to waste, and I do hope that when MIL gets better and goes home, she won't start stocking up again.Rowenahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15335673619430109527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-68987092404288097692010-12-21T00:03:13.380+09:002010-12-21T00:03:13.380+09:00Thanks Jude, she still has a way to go before gett...Thanks Jude, she still has a way to go before getting discharged but way better than a couple of weeks ago.

Take care.
KatK and Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15375282198168168331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-23944157687984462252010-12-20T22:12:45.251+09:002010-12-20T22:12:45.251+09:00Oh wow, I'm glad your MIL is better now, but i...Oh wow, I'm glad your MIL is better now, but it must have been hard to go through all that! Older Japanese (including my friend's mother) keenly remember how little their families had after the war so it's understandable that they want to have a lot of extra on hand just in case. My friend's mom had about 30 blankets and comforters tucked away and when someone else suggested she might not have any need for them in Hawaii, she countered that "you never know when you'll need something!" Needless to say the 30 blankets and comforters went to the new apartment!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-84196165409489025832010-12-20T14:34:12.468+09:002010-12-20T14:34:12.468+09:00I know Debinhawaii..crossing fingers that they sto...I know Debinhawaii..crossing fingers that they stop now.

It was sad Anon because there was way more non-perishable stuff to throw out in the kitchen, we just stopped because the amount of trash was too much.

I'm glad you are keeping your room clean Patzie :)

I've heard that when you get discharged is when you pay Jalna. And I've heard you pay CASH!

Take care everyone.
KatK and Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15375282198168168331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-47219015305876763232010-12-20T14:28:53.235+09:002010-12-20T14:28:53.235+09:00That melon pan sure looks yummy! Glad to hear your MIL is getting better . . . taking long though yah. I wonder about her hospital bill . . . how is that handled in Japan?jalnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16136981767715115943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-13233515907703604272010-12-20T13:44:16.841+09:002010-12-20T13:44:16.841+09:00that's scary! The good thing is you can just tell her that "the rats got to it" and she'll be none the wiser. It's a sneaky way to "help" her get rid of excess stuff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-70109969144955693222010-12-20T05:03:40.518+09:002010-12-20T05:03:40.518+09:00Wow Kat--that must have been tough to do.
