I was kind of surprised to see ketchup in Japanese cooking! There's a dorama called Lunch Queen where the restaurant's special recipe is a demi-glace, and that's what they poured over the omurice--which I thought sounded much tastier, I don't like ketchup very much. The ketchup in your photo looks more delicious than regular ketchup.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07158483350695986514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-17349733387987810512011-06-18T03:13:54.086+09:002011-06-18T03:13:54.086+09:00These omurice looks VERY well made. We usually make it at home with ketchup drizzled on top and fresh parsley, but I've also had it at restauarants with other kinds of sauces like demi-glaze,BBQ and white sauce with cheese. One day my husband Sebastian made this for me, but he used left-over spaghetti to stuff it with, and I really fell in love with it (is that his creation or can you buy it, maybe it's an Kansai thing)?

Homemade ketchup must have been divine, I've been really wanting to make my own BBQ sauce but I can't find liquid smoke here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17223830.post-19991588824544733552011-06-17T09:20:37.020+09:002011-06-17T09:20:37.020+09:00Yum, I love omurice!
