This particular sweet is called Kurifukukaki (literally chestnut lucky persimmon).
A dried persimmon filled with a slightly sweetened chestnut paste.
I'm glad we got to try this.

We went to Nishiki Market to get some roasted Korean chestnuts. I swear, the guy has become more rude. I don't remember him being so. Before, he would be smiling and always throw in one or 2 more chestnuts and say, "service." This time, I asked for the large bag which was 3240 yen. He tells me 3000yen so I think it's a discount. Then he asks for 200 yen more so I give him 2 coins and then he asks for 40 yen more. What the???? I was fully prepared to give him the 3240 but him asking piecemeal like this was pretty stupid.
On top of which, the chestnuts weren't as sweet as usual LOL
