mr ito's ka-san ketto

Came across these crackers at the market.

They look like the creme crackers I grew up with which we used to get from Hilo Macaroni on the Big Island.

I was sad when Hilo Macaroni went out of business.

Diamond Head Brand makes a similar cracker but somehow it isn't the same.

These are made by Mr Ito, a company from Ibaraki that makes cookies and crackers.

They are thinner than the ones we used to get from Hilo Macaroni, but they smell the same.

These are called Ka-san (mother) ketto (short for biscuit)

My favorite way to eat them was to put peanut butter and guava jelly on them.

These crackers are sweeter than the ones I grew up with.

Still, I'm glad I got to try these and happy I got to relive some nice childhood memories.
