I used half of the soup since the package says it is for 3 to 4 people.
First I cooked some minced pork, man! the oil that came out from the pork.
After sopping up the oil with many paper towels, I added a little taberu rayu (chili crisp), then drained the whole thing on another paper towel
I also chopped up nuts since Ippudo’s karaka men has nuts in it
The noodles we bought were a little too thick for my liking, but this was spicy and delicious. We also had gyoza with this.
I stuck the other half of the soup in the freezer, so we'll definitely have this again, hopefully we'll be able to find thinner noodles

uh oh, if it's covid-related, I hope it'll pass soon. I heard that covid flu is making it's rounds here...what a pain for the new year. p.s. got your greeting card, thank you!
because it's kinda chilly here, like 69 to 71 degrees, I've been craving nabe. The asian stores sell trays of cabbage, mushroom, even noodles, etc. to make your own without having to buy tons of separate ingredients. Some already have meat others, add your own.
I never thought of adding the rayu with the meat....usually adding when served. Is there a reason you do it this way? I feel when I heat the rayu it burns my eyes and throat as it's cooking.

I wanted to drain all the oil afterwards, V, so I did it while cooking.
Take care!
