We have a new "roommate" of sorts...a gecko. In Japanese they call them "yamori" and in Okinawa are considered "omamori" or good luck charms.
I didn't really mind it--we have lots of them in Hawaii, but this guy was HUGE!
I woke Satoshi up so that he could catch it to put it back outside, the gecko leaped at him, which made Satoshi and I scream...
It is still in the house, I wonder if it will do the dishes?
I love geckos, I think they are absolutely adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you find him and get to rescue him soon - just that I can't imagine such a cute little guy dying...and I imagine finding a dead little gecko would hardly qualify as a 'nice surprise' ;)
Lucky you to have a gecko in the house! We only have small lizards here that lurk in the shade outside, targets for Maddie who goes nuts trying to catch them. I can always tell the ones that she's gotten because they still come around...only with stubs for tails!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on Ninikuya. Sounds like my kind of place. ;-)
Hi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hope it doesn't die somewhere...or lay any eggs...
Hi Rowena,
I guess we should be rid of any roaches since it's in the house.
Still to have it staring at you right when you wake up was spooky!
Take care you two!
Kat
I love the last part about the dishes. It made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteTK
I think it ran away after hearing it would need to do the dishes, Tamakikat :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.
