In mid-January, I walked through Suigetsu Park. The trees were all bare and if it weren't for the blue sky, it would have been really gloomy.
Then at the beginning of February, I went back and noticed that the momo/ume (peach/apricot) blossoms were starting to bloom.
There was even someone who brought her pet rabbit with her to the park while she photographed the blossoms.
The robai (a waxy flower) ro = candle/wax, bai = apricot was also in bloom. I really like this flower because it has a strong fragrance.
I didn't know about this but there is also a little pond for fishing. There were several men/women fishing, I wonder what they were catching? Whatever it was the sign nearby said that they weren't allowed to use lures.
On yet another trip to the park it was a cold but sunny morning, I walked over a nearby bridge and spotted these ducks sleeping in. (Satoshi doesn't believe me when I tell him that they can fly.)
When I got to the park, more momo/ume trees had bloomed, including this weeping type. It was a beautiful day.
Today is the last day of February. Spring is coming...I can't wait!
What a huge rabbit! Do you think she has a leash for him? Just kidding, but seriously that is a big bunny.
ReplyDeleteI like your "nature shots," especially the pink flower.
looks like a very nice park~ i cant wait for spring to come to us!!
ReplyDeleteactually she did have a leash for the rabbit, Anon, the rabbit had a "handle" of sorts for her to pick it up like a handbag.
ReplyDeleteI hope Spring comes to you soon, Hanami!

Love the ducks!
ReplyDeleteRight place, right time for that rabbit shot. Too cute! Looks like spring is definitely on a roll where you are. No flowers or leaves yet on the trees over here but I think within a couple weeks or so it'll start looking more spring-y.
ReplyDeleteYes they were cute, Nate!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe they had a pet rabbit on a leash, Rowena :) I hope Spring starts springing soon!
Take care you two.

We have some ume in our yard. My favorite is a "weeping" one similar to the pink one in this post (only much smaller). The scent is wonderful, I agree.
ReplyDeleteI am jealous you have a yard, PB :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.

A VERY GOOD BLOG!
ReplyDeleteim definately going here next month! its in my to-do-list! but im still figured out how to go here from Shin-Imamiya station or Osaka Station? could you please tell me?
Faris, from Shin-Imamiya station, you need to take the subway (Midosuji) to Umeda (Osaka), then switch to the Hankyu Takarazuka line, get off at Ishibashi and walk about 10-15 minutes. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteTake care.
