kuwagata

The other day while walking to the market, I spotted this squished kuwagata (stag beetle). I've only seen the live ones in the pet stores, most quite expensive.

I showed Satoshi the photo and he said that it may have been a wild one or maybe it flew away from its owner. (yipes! they can fly??)

Too bad it got squished. The next day it was gone. Either a cat/bird got it or one of the housewives around there swept it up.

    So I was thinking to myself...if I were to be faced with a flying hawaiian B52 and one of those flying kuwagata at the same time...you know that is just too much of a scary thought. Better to call Kikaida to the rescue.

    Ha ha that is so funny Rowena, well not if they were both flying towards you...the Kikaida part (did you know the guy that acted as Kikaida is still around?? if I am not mistaken in Hawaii)

    Ahh. Poor Beetle.
    Bug keeping is popular in Japan because there's not much space for larger animals such as dogs and cats.
    I heard people use Stag bugs for fighting such as Sumo wrestling.
    There's Stag Beetles in the Uk but they are very rare and only found in the East side.

    I had no idea people used their beetles for fighting Chimerastone, interesting :)

    Poor beetle. RIP. Whenever I see a roadkill, or a squished insect, I say a little prayer. (Don't laugh, it's true. LOL)
