Recently, a lot of beer companies have been coming out with these alcohol free versions. I guess with the rise in drunk driving here, these companies still want to make some money on the people who are the designated drivers.
Tamakikat, first told me about this.
The other week, I bought one for Satoshi and I to try....nah, there was LOTS of bubbles, a faint beer taste, but no body.
I think we'll be sticking to the "real deal".
better stick to the real stuff!
ReplyDeleteHi Kat! Do you know Hoppy? (ホッピー) A cheap drink you mix with shochu. I had it once there and I asked for the mug to take home with me as a souvenir. Other than that non-alcoholic beer is simply lame-o.
ReplyDeleteHey Kat - It might be just me, but I haven't any alcohol free beer that I liked......
ReplyDeleteI second that! There's a pizzeria we go to often, and on the beer list they have something written for those who ask for non-alcoholic beer. It's kind of a rude joke, but in essence the message conveyed is that non-alcoholic beer is for losers.
ReplyDeleteMy friend who is a recovering alcoholic of many years swears by them because he misses the taste of beer but otherwise I don't see a point. ;-)
ReplyDeletethat's for sure Jann :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Hoppy but never tried it Dennis, at least you got a cool mug :)
I will definitely stay away from them Kirk :)
That is funny Rowena :)
Debinhawaii, I am surprised that he is allowed to drink non-alcohol stuff, I thought that maybe it may trigger urges for the real thing.
Take care everyone!
Kat
Wow Kat, alcohol free beer! So it doesn't give a punch?
ReplyDeleteI guess that's Kirin's version of O'Douls or Sharps. I hate to say it but if you are DD better off drinking juice or soda! Don't know if you would know but how much do the drinking establishments charge for it?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThere is a punch but from too much bubbles Mikuru!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how much bars charge for this Kyle!
Take care you two.
Kat
