You know, most adults I see around Japan have shoes WAY too big for their feet.
It isn't like you're gonna grow into them.
It makes you walk funny because you're sloshing around in them.
And then there are days when they (your shoes) "fly" onto the railway tracks because they don't stay on your feet.
Saw this and took a photo. (kinda blurry because it was with my iPhone)
In order to get her shoe back, she told someone in the station office and they picked it up for her.
Can you believe the person she was with was actually stupid enough to want to jump down onto the the track to get it?
The station worker quickly shouted at them not to...sigh.
It is Friday, all sorts of natural disasters going on all over the world. Hope next week will be better.
maybe it's because i'm rather tall. but, i can't think of a reason to make my feet look larger.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Wonder why they get them big.
ReplyDeleteGlad she didn't actually go down to get it!
ReplyDeleteI've seen this sometimes in NYC and DC subways but usually it's an iPod or a wallet- rarely a shoe, haha.
That is too hilarious ("because you're sloshing around in them"). I guess they never have problem with getting blisters....from too tight shoes.
ReplyDelete:) Lex, they also wear their pants baggy here to elongate their bodies, um, don't they know they look even shorter??
ReplyDeleteDunno Jalna, but if it is because no more their size, no buy 'um!!
I know K! so scary what people will do to save a shoe or iPod!
Dunno Rowena, but I have seen a lot of people fall.
Great comments everyone, take care.

Very odd indeed...I can't really fathom it, though the too long pants makes a tiny bit of sense...well nonsense.
ReplyDeleteFunny that when the 'cosplay' clothes come here from Japan they fit practically nobody they are so small.
PB, I think this is the reason most "cosplayers?" sew or make their own costumes :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.

Ah! Then they would at least have scraped knees or whatever body part to hit the ground. I'd hate to see an elderly person fall though. :(
ReplyDeleteyou should see some of the elderly Rowena, their shoes are so big that they "slosh" and end up walking way slower because they cannot take proper steps.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Kat
Very strange! Too big shoes are so uncomfortable.
ReplyDelete;-)
I know Deb in Hawaii, can you imagine all the blisters and scrunched toes they must have??
ReplyDeleteTake care.
