update

An update to my rant...First off, thank you for all of your words of support, it really meant a lot to me.

I contacted Google and filed a DCMA with them about the said site.

Google removed the said site from their search engine as well as for certain posts.

In the meantime, the said site posted all of my other posts, but didn't post my rant on their site...feeling a little guilty maybe??!

I also contacted who I thought was the host server, but was told that they were not the host server of this site.

BUT, they did agree that my work was indeed stolen!

So, I've kinda hit a dead-end...and the crappy site will continue to steal my stuff as well as two other bloggers (who I've contacted).

Since the said site is apparently reading all content they are stealing, let me say this...

If you really had any morals, you would remove all the content you have stolen (or link each post back to each of our blogs like you are supposed to!).

In the meantime, I will wait for karma to come around...

  1. Boo. Sorry Kat. What a continued headache for you. I agree that karma has to come back to bite them at some point!

  2. Kat, sorry for being so naive, but what do they gain by stealing your stuff? How satisfying can that be? Do they have ads that earn them money? I don't get it.

  7. Sounds like that website is a little too obsessed with you and your blog? All kine crazies around the world, unfortunately, but I really feel that they are doing it to be spiteful to you more than anything else. Just more proof that as one lolo-lolo head stalking your blog. I'm glad Google obliged because any site not on the search engines is pointless.

  9. Thanks Rowena, actually if I submitted another complaint, I could add more posts for Google to delete but it seemed like a never ending thing to do.

    Hoping so, Deb in Hawaii.

    Take care you two.

  12. People who steal written content deserve to have their private parts nailed to something solid.

    I hope they stop soon.

  16. Your site is SO DELICIOUS!!
    That's why they copy it.
But who goes there...what kind of traffic do they have?
I don't know why these copycat idiots bother. I suppose it's better than hacking into the US Trea$ury...

I notice more and more ppl are leaving logos on their photos (easy to do in Picnik at Flickr).
I haven't started up again doing this but I should :(
    c'est la vie

  18. You should definitely start marking your artwork PB! wouldn't want people to be making $$ off of your beautiful paintings.

    Take care.

  19. You can also contact the advertisers or company providing the advertising on the fake blog to make sure they aren't making money off your content.

  20. Cookistry just published some hints on dealing with blog thieves today. You've done some of it, but there are some other ideas in there, too! Good luck dealing with the thieves, and may they suffer 10 years of shingles for their dishonesty!

  21. It doesn't look like they have any type of ads on their blog Anon, which is why it doesn't make any sense as to why they are stealing??

Thanks Rona will check this out.

    Take care you two.
