hawaii drinks

Well, I made it back to Japan safely. At the Honolulu airport there was a notice that we may have to be diverted to Narita or Haneda due to the typhoon.

While we were waiting at the gate (where the air conditioners were still broken), they advised us that it wasn't Haneda that we could be diverted to but Fukuoka, which is in Kyushu! (eep!)

Luckily, we were able to fly into Osaka even though it was amongst lots of turbulence.

Satoshi was supposed to meet me at the airport, but because he had a business trip the day before, he was stuck in Shikoku due to the typhoon.

Still, I made it back safely, though it was quite depressing to come back to rain coming down in sheets.

Satoshi returned home Sunday morning after the trains started running again and it rained for most of the day.

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you...While I was recuperating, I did get a chance to try this...

Maui Brewing's Coconut Porter...6% alcohol, hints of coconut and chocolate...yum!

I love dark beers so I knew this would be a fave...

My cousin's husband, F, introduced me to having a porter like this with dessert, like coconut mochi...nom! what a great foodie family I have.

One peeve though, these new fangled 6-pack "rings" are like locks, if you can free your can it will be major-ly shaken, though you will be saving sea life as they can't get tangled in it...remember you were warned!

Also, I wish these guys would bottle instead of can!

I would get this one again sans the 6-pack "rings".
