I mentioned it was Satoshi's birthday yesterday.
I also mentioned that he had to work. Since I knew he wouldn't be home for dinner until at least 20:00 and that we wouldn't be eating until then, I decided to make him a "cake" of avocado and spicy poke instead of buying/making something sweet.
I think he was pretty happy with it.
Creative "cake"! I had something similar in a seafood restaurant in Florida, but it was cooked crab instead of poke. And it was in a glass, like a parfait.
ReplyDeletesuper cute...and it looks seriously delicious ^_^
ReplyDeleteooh parfait style sounds delish too, Abigail :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy :)
Take care you two.

Too cute Kat!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, love the idea!
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a very fancy restaurant that would use ring molds to make a caviar parfait or for its ahi tuna tartar.
ReplyDeleteThis "cake" looks similar to the tartar, and I got hungry just looking at it!
I plan on stealing this idea to use at home for myself.
Thanks LJ!
ReplyDeleteThanks K!
I did use a metal ring David :) hope your version is just as delicious!
Take care everyone.

All I can say is that Satoshi is one lucky guy. The MotH surprised me with a porcelain tea mug (the kind with the insert for loose leaf tea), some hard candies and a small tray of assorted pastries all wrapped in nice box. I was like, wow, you didn't have to! teehee
ReplyDeleteaw thanks Rowena, but props to MotH for remembering your b-day! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.
