"the cake"

I mentioned it was Satoshi's birthday yesterday.

I also mentioned that he had to work. Since I knew he wouldn't be home for dinner until at least 20:00 and that we wouldn't be eating until then, I decided to make him a "cake" of avocado and spicy poke instead of buying/making something sweet.

I think he was pretty happy with it.

  1. Creative "cake"! I had something similar in a seafood restaurant in Florida, but it was cooked crab instead of poke. And it was in a glass, like a parfait.

  9. I used to work in a very fancy restaurant that would use ring molds to make a caviar parfait or for its ahi tuna tartar.

This "cake" looks similar to the tartar, and I got hungry just looking at it!

I plan on stealing this idea to use at home for myself.

  11. All I can say is that Satoshi is one lucky guy. The MotH surprised me with a porcelain tea mug (the kind with the insert for loose leaf tea), some hard candies and a small tray of assorted pastries all wrapped in nice box. I was like, wow, you didn't have to! teehee
