semai

I've told you that our roads are very semai (narrow) in our area.

Well, the other day, this guy found out the hard way...

The road in front of our apartment building is actually two-way.

I didn't actually see the accident, but heard his car hit something.

When I looked outside, this is how his car looked like. The back tire was stuck in the "ditches" we have on the sides of our streets for drainage.

In Japan, some "ditches" are covered to walk over, some are open.

Truth be told, I've fell in a couple over the years due to not paying attention. Some aren't too deep, some are really deep.

Luckily the ones I've fallen into weren't too deep, though I've scared Satoshi. One moment he was talking to me, the next moment he turns around and I am not there but in the ditch...

Anyway, the front of this guy's car was scraped because he hit that electric pole.

I was impressed that he called the police himself instead of trying to run off, though with his tire stuck in that ditch, I don't think he could've run off even if he wanted to.

Hope you have a good week!

Hi Kat, Oh wow! I don't think I could drive there! Back when we traveled in Japan our tour group rode in a large bus, those bus drivers were awesome! We had a few really close calls, but no scratches! :) Mich
