soup days

We've been having soup in the mornings...sometimes I make us some oatmeal but most days it has been soup.

I try to make the soup the night before so that all I have to do is heat it up.

Too bad Satoshi isn't a morning person, too bad he doesn't get up when I say the food is ready, winter time is worse because he just doesn't want to get out of bed. By the time he comes to the table, most of the food is either lukewarm or cold...sigh.

Hope you are doing well.

  6. When we first came to the US my mom made tomato soup (usually) and grilled cheese sandwich for breakfast. I remember telling someone and the could not believe it. I just assumed that's what many people in the US ate for breakfast. We could not easily find Japanese food items in the 60's and mom had to improvise. Instead of miso soup, it was tomato soup. Now, when I see salads for western style breakfasts in Japan, I have to smile. How times have changed.

  7. I agree lots of changes Rinshinomori, hopefully we'll all be able to buy each other's cuisines easily & reasonably in the future:)

    Take care!
