We tried this yakishisomaki made in Sendai (Miyagi).
Shiso (perilla) is filled with a sweetened miso, walnuts, sesame seed mixture then pan fried.
Sweet, salty...this was good with rice.
I'm glad we tried this.
I found a recipe online and want to try making this.
I think I just saw this on one of the Japan shows. Shiso, miso, yaki: no can go wrong!!!

V, they were selling the miso mixture at a Tohoku Fair, was a little too much to use, so didn’t buy, will try the recipe I found online.
