so I've been checking out stollen recipes on german sites...and they say to wrap the stollen in foil and store for a couple of weeks before eating? maybe google translate is throwing something off.
Rowena, my understanding is that it is similar to fruitcake, so you would let it "meld" for a couple of weeks before eating. I am not too sure how authentic the types I have been eating are, so we usually eat it up within a couple of days.
