I hadn't known about this place before seeing something on social media.
Like I’ve said previously, a lot of wagashi shops here also sell savory items like inarizushi
We went a little after lunch on Saturday so many items were already sold out.
There was a grandpa in front of us and as he was ordering, we took a look at what was left in the showcase and were discussing what to get.
Satoshi loves mitarashi dango because it has a sweet salty shoyu based sauce on it, since they still had some we were going to order a couple.
They also had some daifuku left, so we were going to order some of that too.
The grandpa was just about to pay for his order when he stops, and says, “wait, I'll take all the mitarashi dango” so they packed all 9 sticks for him!
And then he said, “oh and all the daifuku too” so they packed the last 4 for him too!
WT?! Satoshi and I looked at each other in disbelief.
And then it was our turn and both our choices were now sold out, so we ended up buying sakura mochi and momo (which only looked like a peach and was filled with white bean paste)
I was still in shock so don’t remember how much I paid for these…
These weren’t their top selling items and were nothing out of the ordinary, but we were glad to be able to try them.
Next time we’ll go early and hopefully that grandpa won’t be in line
