medical stuffs

Got the girls mammo'd on Saturday.

It was my first time getting them checked in this mobile mammo bus thingy.

It's amazing what machinery can fit in a bus this size...though I've even seen x-ray machines buses and blood mobiles before

Also got a pap smear but that was done in a different building.

Our ward provides these types of check ups with proof of insurance, so out of pocket was only 1200 yen.

200 yen for large intestine cancer check (which was only a poop check), no barium, yeah!

500 yen for pap smear and 500 yen for mammo.

If you go on your odd number birthdays, the fee is higher like 6000 yen for the pap and mammo together!

Oh and all the medical staff members were female.

Anyway, I'm glad it's over and hoping the results will be okay.

  2. Good for you! So brave. I'm several years behind on my checks. Just hate the intrusions.
But weirdly, up to date on most of my vaccines. Go figure.

  4. Awesome! I canceled my OB appointment when covid appeared (good excuse) and hadn't gone back. I finally did make an appointment at the Straub Clinic near my house and just went earlier this month. It's a relief not to have to worry about it anymore.

  6. Prices for medical care outside the US is so reasonable Kat! I actually got to check out a mobile MRI vehicle once. It was pretty amazing.
