Sunday, Satoshi had to run an errand near Asakusa, and then he wanted me to take him around Asakusabashi, so we decided to walk from Ueno.

But first, we looked for Pokemon manhole covers...

The ginkgo trees were so pretty in Ueno Park.

And then we walked down to Asakusa.

I was standing in line for Kameju dorayaki while waiting for Satoshi to finish his errand, but gave up since I would have to wait for more than hour more just for the line to get to the shop!

At least I saw the Sky Tree while waiting...

While walking down to Asakusabashi...we saw this.

How is this tiny house sandwiched in between two high rises?!
We went to Torikoe Shrine.
And checked out Ichogaoka Shrine, I thought I posted about checking this place out before, but hadn't...
And we also checked out Sakaki Shrine.
Everything was so yellow!
We were starving and found Daikichi.

Afterwards I realized I had bookmarked this place "to try".

In business since 1970, they serve all sorts of "western" style foods...

I ordered the char siu egg...1350 yen (tax included).

oh em gee!...melt in your mouth char siu which seemed more like kakuni (braised pork belly) to me and a sunny side up egg...I would definitely order this again!

oh and I told them I didn't want the miso soup that comes with the meal.

Satoshi had the special which came with 2 ebi fry, he said they were huge! 1800 yen (tax included)

He also said that it had been awhile since he had something so good!

And then we walked...

towards Okachimachi, because Satoshi wanted to see Takeya (again)

and stumbled on Taishindo, which has been in business since 1897 and makes these kaminari okoshi called Kodai
puffed rice brittle with peanuts

they have two types, one with white sugar and the other with brown sugar…280 yen (tax included)

We realized it is actually meant to be split into 4 pieces as there are slight “lines” on the okoshi.

Not too sweet nor too sticky, these were delicious.

More warm weather, more walking and more eating.

V, I thought you guys went to Asakusa, I must be confusing it with the last year's trip.

Take care.

Kay, you and Satoshi had a great day. Beautiful day, ginkgo trees and Ono meal. And how's that little house tucked in that Huge building.
He said " I'm NOT selling"!!!! Lol. Thank goodness it wasn't here and a government building....eminent domain.
Curious how warm was it this day?
