On social media, a lot of people had planned to have an economic blackout day to boycott some of the anti DEI companies in the US on February 28th, for us, I (kinda) participated on March 1st.
No IG, Facebook, Google, Amazon, Target, Walmart..support small businesses, pay with cash...
You don't realize what sites are Google (like this blog) until you try to boycott using it...
Anyway, we were trying to support a small business but the line for lunch was long and right when it was our turn to enter, they announced they had sold out...sigh
Since we were kinda hangry, we went right across the street to Yoshinoya, which is not a small business, but I believe is still a Japanese company...
I think it was my 1st time eating here (I think we took out during the pandemic).
I was interested in this Roka curry.
I've been wanting to eat at Roka which is located at Shin Okubo for some time now, hope to get out that way soon
The curry was super spicy, and over powered the meat that is also on top of the curry.
Glad I tried this though...729 yen (tax included)
Satoshi went with the beef curry udon...932 yen (tax included)
He said he enjoyed this.
And then because our mouths were on fire, we went to Komeda coffee to have something sweet.
I tried their Noir Neige...a chocolate baum kuchen topped with vanilla soft serve and coffee…so ono! the baum kuchen was moist
Satoshi ordered their vanilla soft serve and it was huge! also with coffee.
I don't buy from Amazon these days, so it wasn't too hard to stay away from
These days, we do try to buy "Japan" and do try to support small businesses
so much uncertainty these days, I do hope you are doing okay
So bummahs that they sold out right before you.
