Saturday, Satoshi had his German class and he also wanted to see 2 samurai flicks.I wasn't interested in seeing these movies, but had errands to run, so we did our own thing.
There is a huge bronze (I think) relief near Daimaru, I took a picture of part of it.
They are currently building an addition to the Osaka station and the "old" things are being done away with, figured I would take this picture to preserve part of it.
The day was beautiful and clear. The air was really crisp.While waiting at an intersection, I took a picture of the reflection.
Then crossing the street, I noticed this Red Bull Mini, I think it is the same one I spotted in Tokyo a couple years back, it had a Tokyo license plate.
I also went to check out a new building in Osaka called Chaska. I think it is a combination of Chayamachi & Osaka.The building was designed by Tadao Ando, a famous Japanese architect.
Inside of this building is Osaka's largest bookstore, Maruzen & Junkudo.
7 floors of books!
They even have a pretty nice selection of English books and magazines too.
I stopped into Mister Donut for a little rest and snack.Their angel teddy donut in strawberry.
He looks a bit homely because of the freeze dried strawberry bits.
I dug out the cream filling because it was fake whipped cream.
They also supposedly added calcium to make it more nutritious...sigh.
Overall, it was a good day, got all my errands done and got to catch-up with the changes around the Osaka station.
p.s. today is a National Holiday (Seijin no hi, Coming of Age Day) and we are off to visit with MIL.
I love the Red Bull Mini. I don't think that I have ever seen it before in Japan.

ReplyDeleteI would hate the fake whipped cream as well. I usually don't eat whipped cream coz most of the time I find it blant and tasteless. So unless it's good fresh whipped cream, I would just skip it.
That bear donut is adorable, too bad it didn't match in taste :o/

ReplyDeleteActually they had strawberry, caramel or chocolate, I was in the mood for strawberry that day Rowena :) I wish it were 7 floors of English books and not 6 floors of Japanese & 1 floor of English :)
