Spring is coming...some days slowly, some days with lightning speed.
Sakura foods are slowly coming out of hibernation.
We recently shared this sakura filled taiyaki from Naruto Taiyaki Honpo.
Sweetened white bean paste mixed with minced salted sakura flowers and leaves.
Filled all the way to the tail.
Delicious!
Like the chestnut paste filled one, I hope to get a few into the freezer before the filling flavors change...
Yum, I love sakura flavored treats and this looks great!

when we were at Kawazu, there were a couple of taiyaki stands but the lines were long. Dang, if I knew they had sakura filling inside, I would have waited! We did get some grilled sakura mochi that had regular an that was really good. I better memorize the kanji for sakura or chestnuts so I can read if they have those fillings for next time!

V, you should learn the kanji/hiragana/katakana for the foods you like to eat :)

I still wanna get myself one of those taiyaki pans but a reviewer said they're smaller (capacity-wise) than the ones you get in Japan. I dunno...the whole point is to stuff them with yumminess!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get your hands on a taiyaki pan, Rowena...would love to see the types of fillings you come up with.
