The woman running the shop was a little gruff .
I tried the nori bento (small)...380 yen (tax included).
I tried the nori bento (small)...380 yen (tax included).
There was teriyaki beef, kinpira, sausage & tamagoyaki (rolled omelette)...two layers of nori and rice.
A bit on the salty side, but cannot go wrong with the amount of food for the price.
Rice on the bottom, kinpira and teriyaki beef on top.
He said his food was also salty, but also a bargain for the amount of food.
We will be back to try other items on the menu when we are in the area.

Kokorotei down here makes nori bento. Interesting that the rice is spread out with the nori laid on top. I wonder what the reason is doing that way vs. making musubi? more or less rice? fits in containers more easily? Whatever the reason, still good.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the bento were on the salty side, but great deal and looks good.

V, I remember seeing a Jdrama and the wife made a noriben for the husband when she was pissed at him, it only had the rice & nori...apparently that was the original noriben...ha! nowadays it is more "fancy" with more okazu, some have two layers of rice with nori.

Man, those prices are amazing Kat! Too bad the sodium levels were high.
ReplyDeleteKirk, hoping the next bento we try isn’t too salty.
