Can you believe to save electricity that the government wants us to set our air conditioners to 28C? um that is 82F?! um no...so many elderly people have been dying because they are not using their air conditioner...so sad!
Tokyo’s daily COVID cases have been going up too.
I have a feeling it is due to this heat, lots of people have stopped masking to avoid heatstroke, keeping their windows closed to use their a/c.
And we only have 60% vaccinated up to their 3rd shot.
On top of all of that, next week, the weather dude says that we will have a 2nd rainy season..WT?!
The world is broken.
It's the start of the 2nd half of the year, have a safe weekend.
so sad to hear all this. I was reading about the govt asking to turn off lights and stuff to save electricity.
ReplyDeleteBecause you had mentioned that dehumidifiers were good for keeping cool, I was researching some and trying to decide which one to get. At work, not a problem with AC but this is 4th of July weekend and I'll be stuck at home even though the downstairs has a couple of window AC units. I was trying to see if the dehumidifiers would work better electricity-wise than running a/c or if I should get one for upstairs.

That's crazy Kat.....82 is not "air conditioning....." From talking to our epidemiologists, the BA .5 variant is highly transmissible.
ReplyDeleteAiyaaaa.
ReplyDeleteV, our dehumidifier is part of the airconditioner, if possible you should see if you can one like this so you wouldn't need to purchase two different machines.
ReplyDeleteAfter you mentioned this Kirk, the news here says that BA.5 is trending here as well.
Jalna, yeah.
Take care everyone.

I second that; the world is broken, and I can't see how it can be fixed. Italy is at red alert for low water levels in the north; gotta use less! I can't water the garden or wash the car, so I 'save' rinse water from doing the dishes and syphon the water from the sink into my watering cans, and collect all of the condensation from the a/c too.
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that you guys still dealing with covid. I saw on the tv that the percentages are up, but the restrictions are relaxed in comparison to last year. I think it's mostly those that still haven't had shots or those that got reinfected, but it's not like they're dropping like flies.
I heard about the drought and water conservations in Italy, Rowena, I hope your garden will be okay. Hoping we won't be talking about COVID this time next year.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
