this and that

Wanted to try Himmel's yuzu stollen last year, but didn’t get a chance

Glad they made it again this year...2200 yen (plus tax)

The owner uses yuzu from his hometown.

Yuzu, marzipan, dried fruits and nuts...love!

Combini Starbucks...Melty chocolate with coffee jelly...meh, wish it had more coffee in it
You may have seen on our social media the other day that Mother Nature drove past Autumn and crashed into Winter...it has been fahreezing!

We've been soup-ing.

Hear the temps will be going back up a little next week

Found a new to me bakery, Bank.

Tried their pate campagne sandwich...780 yen (tax included)

cinnamon apples, pickled purple cabbage, carrot salad, pate de campagne, bacon, lettuce, mayo and grainy mustard...love!

The bread was a hard type with bleu cheese in it...delicious!

I like that the bread was toasted

Took the sandwich apart to eat.

This toy in the Takashimaya window caught my eye...I swear we had something similar growing up
Takashimaya has their tree up
Fuyu persimmons from Gojo, Nara.

Saw them selling these on the street and bought some, 3 for 500 yen (tax included).

These are huge!

Thought I would give some support since we've visited Gojo in the past.

Been wanting to try L'avenue, a sweets shop in Kobe for some time now, decided to order some items online to try.

Sausiccon chocolat (chocolate salami)...1800 yen (tax included)

if you'd like to try making your own...look here

Cake chocolat figue...2400 yen (tax included)

I'll freeze the bulk of this cake.

Look forward to trying these

Have a safe weekend!

  1. the Kaki!!! so huge! A co-worker's mother from Virginia sent her a box of kaki. They were big and so sweet, I was amazed and didn't know they grow in Virginia. The ones I've been buying here for $3-$4/lb were not very sweet.
