While the U.S. has been having shortages of flour and yeast during this pandemic, Japan's latest shortage is oatmeal.

I guess because it is versatile and can be used to make granola, eaten as "oatmeal", used in cookies...

Since we were running low on granola, and after hearing the news of the shortage, I thought I would be able to get a bag of oatmeal at my local market.

I usually make my own granola because I like to control the sweetness and what ingredients are put into it.

Nowadays, whenever I make this granola recipe, I only put in cacao nibs, nuts and seeds.

Unfortunately, when I went to the market, the shelf was empty.

Luckily though, I was able to find some granola.

Hopefully this shortage won't last too long.

On another note, wish me luck, I'm going to see if I can get my hair colored today...

That granola looks so good. In fact, lots of Japan granola is good and expensive! A bunch of the women I (used to) go to Japan with always buy tons of Japan granola. They sell it at Marukai and Donki here but if not on sale, 0ver $9 a bag, eeeeppp!
I hope you find oatmeal and good luck on the hair appt! Must have lots of Japanese Zebras running around, LOL.

Good luck! I'm also getting my hair colored today. :) Where we are the flour and yeast are back in stock, at least at the little store close to us. I refuse to go to a big grocery store. It's always too crowded and the tape on the floor gives me anxiety, lol.

thanks Kirk :)

The tape doesn't bother me Steph, it's the people who don't abide by the tape :p

Take care you two.

Good for you that you get your hair colored by a pro. I have no patience having it done at a salon so DIY at home. I wish my hair would turn all white already.

I used to do it myself Rowena, but hate having to clean the bath area afterwards (plus winter time fahreeze-a!), so after we moved to Tokyo, I have it done at a worth the time and money.

Take care!
