If you blinked, you'd totally walk past Cafe Muni, we almost did.
A tiny cafe tucked away from the roadway, seats only 12-ish.
We loved the cozy space and laid back feel.
Satoshi had their tiramisu while I had their spice cake.
I also had their iced ginger chai while Satoshi had some hot coffee.
We'll be back!

foodie saturday in osaka
Met up with Tamakikat in Osaka before her appointment.
I had this croque monsieur thingy while she had a green smoothie.
Always nice catching up with her, she was also nice to share some Rococo chocolates (more about those later!) (Thank you!)
After Satoshi's German class, he wanted to go meet up with some classmates for a study session, so first we had lunch at South Swell Cafe.
The burgers are huge here! but the prices are super reasonable...800 yen. I had the South Swell Burger which came with bacon, bbq sauce and I think cheese.
Plus 200 yen and it came with a drink, I chose coke...
Satoshi ordered their Avocado Burger...900 yen and with 200 yen plus he added coffee.
While I waited for him, I checked out the Utsubo Park Rose Festa and read my book.
There were tons of families with kids all itching to play in the fountains...
There were also tons of furry kids!!
After Satoshi's study session, we walked to Nakanoshima Rose Park.
On the way, we bought some coffees and sat in the park.
It was dinner time. We checked out this mexican place I had bookmarked, Herradura.
We tried their guac with chips and ordered two orders of tacos (one with shrimp and the other with chile con carne). An order comes with two tacos.
Their food is quite good. We especially liked their chips which are fried to order.
We also had their queso con chile (melted cheese with tomato) and chips.
Their strawberry margaritas were meh. But we want to go back to try their plates.
It was quite a long day, but the weather is still quite nice.
Have a nice week!

boulanger s kagawa
There is a tiny bakery in the Nakazaki-cho area of Osaka called Boulanger S Kagawa.
I picked up a few things to try...the milk france (a baguette filled with a milky buttercream).
Loved this but I should have scraped out the buttercream before heating this up in the toaster oven...what a mess it made!
The chocolate bagel...meh! I'll stick to Happy Camper's bagels.
Fig rustic, packed with so many dried figs! love.
I love how you need to tell the people behind the counter what items you want and I love their "hard type" breads....I'll be back!

re-connect
Phil is in town. He contacted me to have lunch the other day.
After waiting for a table, we had a nice lunch at Cercle in Nakazaki-cho...950 yen (tax included)
Starters were their sweet potato soup, a pâté with pickles, broccoli terrine and some kind of mousse.
We both chose the chicken roti. This was served with a porcini and assorted mushroom sauce.
The tables all have these cute drawers for you to get your utensils and other things like plates and napkins from.
The shop is tiny and the portions of food are kinda tiny too.
Even if the food was good, guys (and maybe some gals), I think you may be hungry after eating here...
We then went for coffee at Utena...400 yen (tax included)
This cafe is very laid back and quiet, with jazz playing in the background.
Loved the interior, really retro.
Omiyage (souvenirs) from Phil.
Since we last met, he's been working in Lyon, France, he was so sweet to bring me a foodie French magazine and some chocolates by Chocolat des Princes (a local chocolatier).
I've been using google translate to read the magazine...
I couldn't believe how many chocolates fit inside that box! I shared with Satoshi, they were delicious! (click on the photo to see what each one was)
It was a great day, lots of catching up, lots of good food!
Thanks for a great day Phil! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan.
Lots of re-connecting this week, have a nice weekend everyone!

café clicquot
Yesterday, it rained all day long. And the wind was crazy! So we stayed indoors, and I worked on blog posts...
We stumbled upon Café Clicquot because our first choice for lunch had stopped service by the time we arrived...boo!
The aroma of garlic cooking is what drew us in.
Love the door! Reminded me of Paris.
The cafe itself is quite tiny.
But their pasta was delicious.
I had their carbonara...creamy, cheesy goodness.
Satoshi had their mushroom & bacon pasta with a garlic oil sauce, he ate so fast, I couldn't get a photo of it!
Our lunch also came with a small salad...800 yen each.
This area has a lot of cafes and knick-knack shops, we'll be back!
