abientot

About a 30 minute walk from where we live is a little bakery called Abientot, I've posted about this place several times.

They started an eat-in area and cafe within the last year or two and I've been wanting to check it out.

We got there early for breakfast, but the actual cafe service didn't start until 9 a.m. and the food service didn't start until 11 a.m.

So, we just bought different sandwiches and other items, some boxed coffee from their refrigerator and ate out on their terrace.

Right across the street a man was preparing his field to plant rice.

We loved the bread for these sandwiches. They were hard on the outside and chewy on the inside, not airy like some other bakery's baguettes.

The cherry brioche was delicious with a custard cream center.

We definitely have to go back to see what kinds of things they serve at 11:00 a.m.

All sounds delicious, but to be able to look out onto a man preparing his rice field, that is unique! Like East meets West given the name of the cafe!

Rowena,
Actually I like this time of year, only because the rice fields attract frogs and you can hear them croaking which bounces off the houses and buildings, makes for lots of noise, but good noise :)

Take care.
