made in japan

The weather has turned to...summer. Kinda warm, sometimes humid. I think yesterday's temp was 27C (80F).

When the weather turns warm, we no longer fill the furo and instead we take showers.

Since I'm talking about showers, thought I'd share more Made in Japan products...Tamanohada has been making soaps and skincare products in Tokyo since 1892.

I think this round soap is a relatively new type. They have also added some fragrances to them like musk, fig, rose.

If I'm not mistaken they have a total of 6 different fragrances.

One is 840 yen (about US$8.40), not too bad for soap, plus it lasts quite long.

I really like how the soap "rolls" over you when you shower with it and the fragrance isn't too strong or perfumy.

I'll be buying this again.

I haven't seen a lot of round soap before. Is it easy to use compared to regular soap?

27! Acch! That would be bad news for me (for the garden!) so I'll stay happy with my current 23°C. About the furo, I remember how thrilled I was to finally be able to actually own a bath tub when I moved here. In Hawaii I always lived in a place with only a shower! The thing is, unless you're accustomed to taking baths all the time, the novelty of it wears off and all of a sudden the bathtub is a waste of space. Five years in this house and we are ready to rip out the bath and stick a shower stall in its place!

Actually our furo is in the same space as the shower Rowena, very compact when it comes to spacing in Japanese homes here. The toilet is in its own little "box" separate from the bathroom.

By the way, in my mom's house, we had a tub/shower and she ripped out the tub and replaced it with a shower only, she's getting ready for getting old :p

Take care.

Haha your $ value is probably more Japanese now. I feel like WHAT $8? I can buy more soaps in Costco! But I know it's a special soap. :-) 80F in May already? Are you ready for rainy season??? Enjoy the weather now before continuous rain...

Probably true Nami, though there are some soaps I buy in Hawaii that are more expensive, like $12 or $14??

I rather have rain but not the humidty :p

Take care.
