If I remember correctly, my first attempt at smoothies was pre-immersion blender, and I think the texture was a bit more "chunky" then because I was using a food processor.
Fast forward to yesterday...Satoshi was on a business trip, so it was just me, myself and I for breakfast.
4 strawberries (about a handful), 1 small banana (12 centimeters, about 4 inches), 1/4 teaspoon ground flax seed and 1/2 a cup of milk.
Whiz it...this one was definitely smoother.
I think my favorite combo for smoothies is strawberry and banana.
Actually I've never really tried any other combo...I should be brave and experiment more.
I also had 1/2 a slice of toast with chocolate peanut butter spread and some black tea.
What did you have for breakfast?

You asked, what did I have for breakfast? Today I made Pancakes with mix that I brought home from Australia last month.
Both of my boys loved it.
Oh delicious...! Finally SF is back with sunny weather. Now I'm thinking about making a smoothie. Me too, my favorite is strawberries and banana. I like to put blueberries in it, but not when I have to go out right after. All the blueberries will stuck in my teeth. =P Have a great weekend Kat!
frozen mango with a bit o' honey is well loved in our kitchen . . . yum!
Sounds good Contamination :)
ooh I should check our frozen section for blueberries, Nami --funny about your teeth :)
maybe I should check our frozen section for mango too Leigh :) that sounds delish!
Take care everyone.

Boy, that Russian site is still stealing your stuff. Seems like they're doing now to spite and irritate you. To publish your "update" that had nothing to do with their ascribed photo and food blog really implies that situation.
Sounds pretty good. Most smoothies seem to be made with banana and yoghurt as the main ingredients.
I had a Japanese style breakfast today with a bowl of steamed rice, miso soup, rolled omelet (tamagoyaki), pickles (tsukemono), and natto all washed down with some green tea.

Haha, I did the exact opposite with my blender when I tried to make dips or finely ground stuff. Needless to say, it never really worked out and my fruit smoothies started to smell weird!

Wow looks delicious and yummy .. It is An adventure "taste" ..:)
Yeah Nate, don't think anyone can take them down.
I give you credit for being able to eat natto, J-A, it is too stinky for me :p
Ooh that doesn't sound too good Jean.
Thanks Jemy!
Take care everyone!
Kat
Thanks
Tell me, can your blender deal with chunks of chocolate?
haven't tried Contamination, but I know for sure it doesn't do ice, so maybe it can't...
Take care.
Kat
Ok then, so I guess just chocolate syrup then.
chocolate syrup sounds like a plan Contamination.
Take care.

Smoothies are one thing that I am "bad" at...not for the fact of how to make them, but because I always wanna add extras...like gelato. It's supposed to be a healthy thing, but I just can't resist a scoop of fat and calories. So...I just stick with coffee, fruit and bran cereal.
ooh gelato sounds so good, tempting Rowena, very tempting :)
Take care.

I love my smoothies with bananas, blueberries and nut butter and I like to throw fresh spinach in there too. Gets me my greens and you don't even notice they are in there. ;-)
I should experiment with greens too Deb in Hawaii, will surf around the web to see different combos :)
Take care.
Kat
Yum, love breakfast smoothies- enjoy!
Thanks K, hope to try more combos :)
Take care.

Sort of a late comment, but oh well ;) I like to put a cup of shredded ice (or at least thats what it says on the fridge, it's more like small pieces of ice it my opinion), a small to medium sized banana, and enough milk (sometimes soy milk) to barely cover). It comes out pretty thick if you don't blend it too long, and yet everything chops up fine. And sometimes I add strawberries, peach yogurt, blueberries, vanilla extract, or protein powder to it. Oh, and by the way, I had blueberry pancakes with honey for breakfast.. Yummm... :)
both the smoothie and your breakfast sound delicious Chelz!
Take care.
