Since I was in Shinjuku, I had also wanted to check out the fall colors at Shinjuku Gyoen, but forgot that they are not open on Mondays...boo!
The sandwich was so good, and filled generously.
And that tomato bread which they used was so tasty! I will definitely have to see if they sell this bread the next time I am in Shinjuku.
I thought I had blogged about Shinanoya, but did not, love their teriyaki chicken.
This is 1 chicken thigh which is 550 yen (tax included) and is huge and meaty.
The teriyaki sauce isn’t sweet like we have in Hawaii.
There is always a line in front of this tiny shop, luckily on this day there was not.
This week was sunny and WARM!

BTW, if you don't mind, how much do stollen cost in Japan? Here they start around $20 and UP gasp!
I actually looked up airfare to Japan but seems like American passport holders are still not welcome. :(

V, yes that man was holding that lady’s hand...the stollen from dean & deluca was about $30, the one with the chestnuts was about $25, the one from shinjuku was about $12 and the last one I bought was about $12...hope you can get some stollen:)

ps I think the stollen is expensive because it takes time to make plus all the fruit & butter they use:)
Is the Coke vending machine (in the background of the Giraffe truck pic) a canned soda vending machine? I haven't seen one of those since I was in high school. They swapped out the juice (it was really "drink") vending machine for a coke one, .50 for each can of soda. These days, soda vending machines are bottle only, and the last one I saw was $2.50 for a bottle of soda, can you believe it? Made me feel both old, and cheap.
Yes Louise, the vending machine has soda as well as other drinks in it. There are tons of these and other brands of vending machines all over Japan :) There are canned drinks as well as plastic bottled drinks in them and most drinks are about $1.50 each. During the summer the drinks are cold and during the colder months, the machine is switched to heat the drinks.

Was this sandwich toasted on one side? Love how avocado is sliced and lined up so neatly. Very visually appealing.
