tonkatsu and nabe tatsumi

Satoshi's been wanting to try this tonkatsu shop in our shopping arcade.

They used to be open for lunch & dinner and serve nabe (hot pot) and tonkatsu, but with the pandemic, are now only open for lunch and only serve tonkatsu

They don't have a lot of seating so if you don't go when they first open, you'll have to wait awhile for a table

We were lucky to get there just before they opened

I ordered the katsu curry...1060 yen (tax included)

My katsu was cooked well and the curry had Japanese stock in it

Satoshi ordered the filet (tenderloin) and ebi fry...2035 yen (tax included)

He said he enjoyed this

I'm glad we tried this place and now we have another place to put in our rotation.

Tonkatsu and Nabe Tatsumi
7-48-8 Nishikamata
Ota, Tokyo
Closed Sundays
Hours: 11:30-14:30 (lunch)

so strange! I always meant to ask you why Japan cabbage is so sweet. I buy the veggie crudite from the conbini and love the pieces of cabbage in there. LOL, this past trip I made instant ramen and put the daikon and cabbage in the cup to pretend it's healthier. But I love it raw. so sweet.
