Christmas is just around the corner. The economy is kind of sucky, but you still want to give your friends something small. How about something homemade?
I recently gave away some homemade vanilla extract and some taco spices.
If you haven't made vanilla extract before, it is really easy. (Maybe you could try this for next Christmas?)And the taco spices are a nice combination of different spices, beats the pre-packaged stuff!
Just put into small jam jars, wrap up, attach a card...you're good to go!

I think with the economy being the way it is, and probably for some time into the future, homemade gifts will become the new rage. I prefer them way more than something flashy and new, but this trait could be due to my age. I get enough "junk" and appreciate receiving da love mo' bettah!

Ahh, very cute jars and great gift ideas. Wish I was as organised like you are.
Two years ago I made up some nice giveaways of choc biscottis, choc truffles and some pistachio bikkies. Last year, I made nothing because I just moved to London and didn't have all my equipment with me.
This year, well.. I wAS thinking of making something.. if only I wasn't still ill with this miserable cough/flu. I guess I will just have to give this year another miss..

aww the little bottles are so cute! For the vanilla, the pods would have to be left in there? Do you have to cut it open for the seeds and essence to mix with the vodka?

Love the jars, I am taking some home made lilikoi curd and some matcha tea salt to Portland for gifts but my jars are not half as cute. Love the taco spice idea--my family would probably like that more than the matcha salt!
The jars only hold a tablespoon of spices/extract, Deb, I think your family will like both of your gifts :)

Homemade Gifts, at some point, I decided I needed less fuss in my life and I should give up on homemade gifts. I've discovered that while it is much more practical and affordable to buy gifts rather than make them, it is not more fun.
You should bring back the fun and think about going back to homemade Sujan :)
