rengetsu

Rengetsu is a cafe near Ikegami that is in a machiya (old Japanese home).

We had their jitabyodon which is part of that stamp rally I told you about earlier.

Super tender pork, rice, some pickled ginger and sweet potato chips.

This was delicious but pricey.

We'll be back to try other items on their menu.

I looked at some of the other write ups. looks soooo good!

btw, I made a small batch of watermelon rind tsukemono. I didn't like the first couple pieces then I got hooked. Of course, since the season is just about over. I used the recipe with equal parts salt, rice vinegar and shoyu. 1/2 tsp each. I think next batch I'll add a little chili pepper flakes.

V, the pork is kakuni style, something like it is cooked for two days! super soft. I think Jalna just blogged about watermelon rind tsukemono, her version uses shoyu, I want to try next summer.

Take care.
