I had been eyeing this in the glass case of Antenor for some time now, but kept putting it off until last week.Lemon tart 315 yen (about US$3.15).
A flaky crust (though I have eaten better crusts a.k.a. mom's), sponge cake, lemon curd, more sponge cake, more lemon curd, topped with spurts of whipped cream.
The lemon curd was tart, the custard was sweet...it was a good balance.
The box it comes in makes a nice little photography studio too.

I love lemon tarts! What a great find...when I get to Japan I do need to visit these kinds of places. Do you think you guys will still be there in 2011?
only 3 inches in diameter, but just perfect size, Rowena :)
I hope they still have the tarts Laura, most of these places are seasonal, though we'll probably be here in 2011, come visit!

So pretty! I love lemon tarts--it looks delicious. I often find the crust is not as good as the filling when I buy tarts or pies and it's my favorite part. ;-)
I notice that too Deb, you would think if they make a delicious filling they would want a delicious crust too :)

oh delicious!! this is my hubby's fave dessert! but i never succeed though in making a perfect meringue on top...
