Sunday was a gorgeous sunny day. There was still a nip in the air but still enough warmth to erase some of those winter blues.
Unfortunately, Satoshi had to work, so I decided to check out Suigetsu Park by myself.
There were some ume/momo (apricot/peach) trees blooming.
And the robai (literally waxy apricot). I love this flower, it has a strong scent. The scent reminds me of yellow ginger.
Hopefully this is an indication that Spring is coming, and not a false alarm...
Then again on my walk in the early evening, the sunset was "blazing" in the sky, so I stopped and took some shots with my iPhone.
(after writing this post, Monday was gloomy and cold again, looks like we'll have some cold for awhile longer...)

Ooohh pretty flowers!
Sooooo pretty!
Wow I really like those blossom pictures. I like those fruit trees with blossoms. I saw a peach tree with blossoms on it last year at a house that was for sale in Palolo and it was so nice. As you know, we don't see many of those kinds of trees around Honolulu. Lots of mango, but those just aren't the same :)
I thought the bad part of winter was over for us in the Midwest, because it warmed up to the 30s last week. But today it started snowing! Boo.
It's still winter for us...this morning I woke up and saw the entire forest covered in frost!
Thanks Kirk and Jalna :)
I'll take mango and lychee anyday Rick :)
Boo Tamara, sending what sun we have today your way...
Very nippy here today also Rowena, I think this weather is making all my plants on the lanai confused!
Take care everyone!

It seems so early for such pretty, full blooms. ;-) Great pictures!
Beautiful flowers. I'm envious as we still have at least three months more of winter weather here. I can't help remembering that you still had fall leaves in Japan when we were already into winter also...chrisq
yes it is quite early Debinhawaii, actually the weather turned icy cold after this post :(
I think we have a while more to go too Chrisq, hopefully it will warm up soon though, for you too!
Take care you two.
