gardeners

I often see gardeners or construction workers using this type of broom to sweep things up.

A large bamboo pole with the tips of the bamboo wrapped around it. It kind of looks like something a wicked witch would ride on.

Rustic looking but does the job.

I'm kind of happy to see people still sweeping here and not using those noisy leaf blowers.

Uhm...that looks a lot like my broom. I keep mine in the garage (will take photo), and hope to learn to fly it one day...got the idea from the italian Befana/old hag character on Epiphany Day and wanted one for the longest time! It cost me something like 4€?

I used to see an older Filipino maintenance man around the building where I work using a palm frond to sweep.

There used to be a man at University of Hawaii Manoa always sweeping with a long broom like that, but I haven't seen him in a few months. His broom was over 10' long so he could sweep the street from the sidewalk. :)

I've used that style and I thnin I prefer it to the flatter style we have here. Fully agree with you about the leaf blowers...sound and smell...

These brooms are pretty good and more than do the job required.

Rowena, I wonder where they sell them here...

Wow Jalna :)

10' is quite long Rick!

I sometimes wonder if those using the blowers know how to sweep, Jasmine ;)

Take care everyone.

I wish they would use those brooms at the condo complex across the street from me instead of the blowers early in the morning. ;-)

wasn't there a law passed in Hawaii Deb in Hawaii about using those blowers early in the morning??

Take care.

This kind of brooms were used for ages! Where I come from (Kyrgyzstan), we make them from the flexible and leafy branches of trees and large bushes :-)
