things I'm liking

Some things I'm liking...the salted caramel popcorn at the movies.

It was my first time trying the popcorn at the movies, did you know they don't allow you to eat while watching the movies?? WT?

The small at 300 yen (about US$3) is about 2 cups of salted caramel or plain popcorn.

Since we couldn't eat this while watching the movie, we gobbled it up while waiting for our theatre to clear out.

The other night I tried SOL's chicken curry for dinner.

It is medium hot but my mouth was definitely on fire, in a good way.

Sometimes I want to have this shop's curry for lunch but he doesn't open early, so it has been awhile.

I wish he would bring back his Keema, it is so good.

Muji's Fair Trade teas. I tried the Chai blend & Orange Ginger.

Both are delicious. The Orange Ginger is so fragrant, like a freshly squeezed orange.

Subway's BLT. I was a bit disappointed with this. Bacon is still limp.

But, it had been awhile since I had had a sub sandwich so this was nice. Plus it was only 300 yen (about U$3) for a 6-inch (not sure how much it is in the US).

And even if it wasn't eco-friendly, I liked how they packaged my sandwich in this plastic container because it didn't get smashed on the train ride home.

Lotte's Yukimidaifuku...a soft mochi filled with ice cream.

The plus to this is that there is oozy chocolate in the middle...mmm!

What are you enjoying these days?

Yum! The popcorn and the mochi especially sound delicious. That is v. strange about not being allowed to eat during the movie! Although I guess that keeps the theatres more clean than the ones in the US, haha.

I just had amazing raspberry mojito. Think I'm hooked!

I like Lotte's Yukimidaifuku. I don't know if they have the strawberry with chocolate one here or not. Must check!

Salted caramel popcorn sounds good! Why do they not allow eating while watching a movie? Is it to keep th theater clean?

Some theaters do allow you to eat popcorn in them, but a few, usually independent theaters don't up here. I was quite upset when I went to one theater and was told I couldn't have my popcorn!

On the other hand, the last time we went to the movies, my husband dropped his popcorn all over the floor (before the movie) and they cleaned it up for him AND gave him more popcorn for free!

that is interesting Helen, I once spilled my coffee at Starbucks and got a free one also, was kinda surprised, thought I would have to buy another.

Take care.

i don't understand why they sell the popcorn in the first place. Not that I have a problem with it, because people making a lot of noise can be annoying, although the worst noise tends to be from wrappers, not popcorn.
I'm enjoying the lemon slice i just made with heaps of yummy lemon curd.

How low is the volume that they don't let you eat popcorn in the movies..... heck, when we lived in LA, we went to a Korean movie and they were eating dried cuttlefish and file fish! The smell there was louder than nay popcorn crunching could ever be!

I agree with you that wrappers are more annoying Sarah! mmm, lemon curd.

ew, Kirk must've been stink :(

Take care you two.

I'm still stuck on the 'no eating' policy but they sell the popcorn anyway. I think I'd be so consumed with the urge to eat that popcorn that I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the movie! Salted caramel? That it makes all the more harder to hold back!

in Japan Rowena, there are all these "double standard" types. Like "no smoking" on the train platform, but you can if it is on the designated area at a certain time, WT??

Take care.

I don't get it . . . they sell it, but you can't eat it? So must be you can eat it BEFORE the movie starts, but not during . . . how conscientious . . . weird . . . but conscientious. So if you plan to eat popcorn at the movies, you better plan to go ahead of time. Funny!

I wish they did that in America...not allow eating during the movies. Also, I'd wish management would immediately throw out people who text, surf the net on their phones, and talked during the movies. That would totally improve the movie going experience.

Loving that salted caramel popcorn but agree not having while watching the movie would be frustrating. ;-)

Had a special Ono Pop today--strawberry dipped in dark chocolate--loved it! So ono--wish I bad bought more than one! ;-)

too weird right Jalna :0

I haven't run across anyone texting during the movie Pocky, but have heard people's "vibe" many times...off means off people!

ooh that ono pop sounds lovely Deb in Hawaii!

Take care everyone.
