starbucks

I think I've told you that I go to Starbucks often. They recently came out with a Lavender Earl Grey Tea Latte...mmm all the flavors I love.

This latte is sweetened with honey and it isn't sickly sweet like their Chai latte. I think I'm going to have this again.

Does your Starbucks have a special beverage out now, what is it?

Hi there,

i went to a starbucks yesterday - something i rarely do because i prefer to go to blue bottle coffee or to a peets coffee in san francisco. but starbucks is obviously an easy location to gather people as a meeting spot.

i had noticed their new tea latte menu and decided to try a vanilla rooibos tea latte - it was very disappointing! there was no real flavor of either vanilla or rooibos and it was very watery. after reading your post, i think i should have gone for that lavender earl grey tea latte instead, though i wonder if it would have been any better. i'm generally not thrilled with starbucks. but next time i'm there i will try the tea latte you ordered, Kat.

but in talking about coffee, i personally love blue bottle coffee here in sf and i recently tried one of their offerings - a Kyoto-style iced coffee which is so delicious with so much flavor and body that i don't think ice coffee will ever be the same for me.

Sounds delicious--I'll have to see if they have it here. I like the fact it isn't too sweet.

That tea latte was amazing. I had one just over a week ago when I was in Sendai. My lil town is just too small for Starbucks, sad to say.

I had the earl grey one, my husband had the assam one. It was nice too, but I think I picked the right one!

(I've been lurking for about a month now...just thought I'd comment for a change. :-) )

I have been reading your blog for a little bit, my husband and I are planning a trip to Japan in May! I have enjoyed reading your blog! Anyway, since you shared your Starbucks find, I thought I would share a favorite tea cafe of mine with you! I am a HUGE tea connoisseur! www.teasmecafe.com

Our local Starbucks are advertising new hot tea lattes made with chai tea and milk. I'm not sure what the difference is between that and the hot chai lattes they've always served here. It doesn't sound very appealing to me but I have a coupon for a free one so will check it out soon. Perhaps it will be my new favorite! (I hope not, as I have enough caffeine vices.) :)

If I had a Peets nearby Grace, I would definitely be there instead of Starbucks :) I'll have to note down Blue Bottle on my places to visit in SF :)

I hope they have it Deb :)

I'll try the Assam one the next time I'm there, Helen and thanks for delurking :)

Will check out your link, Sheri, hope you enjoy your trip to Japan :)

coupons are always cool, Jenster, hope you like their chai latte.

Take care everyone!

urh! I posted in the wrong comments box! Sorry, I meant does the lavender tea have coffee in it as well?? haha it will be nice to brew one up at home.

no Phoebe, it is called a latte, but there is no coffee in it, just earl grey tea, lavender flavoring, honey and some frothed milk.

Take care.

Kit, just want to follow up that I used my free coupon and got one of the new hot tea lattes that Starbucks is promoting in our area. I got the "London Fog," which was lavender and bergamot tea with steamed milk and a sweetener (I forgot to ask what the sweetener was -- probably honey). Honest, it was so disgusting I threw it away after about six sips. (I didn't like it after the first sip but thought it might grow on me.) Even my son, who enjoys taking sips of my beverages and likes most of my lattes, had to spit it out.

It occured to me that I had forgotten that I don't like any milk with my tea. I love tea and I love milk/cream, but not together.

So I'll stick with my usual espresso lattes, but I'm glad I tried it anyway!

sorry to hear that the london fog was such a disappointment, Jenster. Thanks for the update though!

Take care.
