culture shock

Awhile back, I wrote about schools not having grass on their playgrounds.

Well, recently our governor declared that all schools in Osaka need to have grass so...voila!

Today is a holiday, Coming of Age Day, which I've written about here...we'll spend the day with MIL. After our faux pas, I hope we have a nice visit with her.

Have a good week!

I didn't even consider that it went so sour on that faux pas. Was she not speaking to you guys? Oh-oh...

The last time we visited the inlaws, my mil was a little more laid back and not so fuss buckety. Normally, she has this thing where she wants to do EVERYTHING - cook, serve, take away the dirty plates, etc - saying that we are her guests. I'm like, guests??? We're your "kids" for crying out loud. If we are old enough to drive to your house and eat your food, then we are old enough to help out in the kitchen to wash dishes. Sorry, I'm ranting... ^-^

I doubt it Jalna :)

Me too Nate :)

Me too Debinhawaii :)

That is exactly how my MIL is Rowena, I cannot be in her kitchen but she can wash dishes when she comes over?? Actually she told us not to come over the New Years, but I guess it was a good thing because we missed my BIL, SIL and their kids ;)

Take care everyone.

Hey Kat - Hmmm..... Is the Governor perhaps checking out your posts??? ;o) It's nice to be able to make changes in a relatively quick manner.... here you'd probably be buried in red tape!

Kirk, I highly doubt it but you never know.

Take care.
