lemons

Stumbled upon these “local”(Japan grown) lemons which I have a feeling are Meyer lemons because they aren’t too sour and the skin is smooth.

I think there were 4 or 5 in the bag and pretty cheap, 169 yen plus tax.

I remember about 10 years ago my friend Rona was looking for Meyer lemons in Japan and they were hard to come by.

It is nice that produce that are popular in the US is being grown here.

the prices are so astounding. Even in the open markets here, they cost a lot.
maybe I have to temper that with the fact that we often get a lot of fruits and veggies for free from friends and relatives, so average price is good. LOL

score! I'm still hoping that finger limes will catch on enough to make them worth growing and stocking at the grocers. heck, we get pomelo from China!
