I love how the internet influences what I eat...
After seeing this post on Kathy's blog...that same day, Satoshi and I had lunch at Otowa, a chain sushi place. Their lunch special was only 893 yen (about US$8.93)--10 pieces of assorted sushi and miso soup.
Then after seeing Rowena's post....I "had" to get an an donut (donut filled with sweet bean paste).
I wonder what yummy photos/posts are out there today...

That's a great deal on the sushi! I'm also like that with food, whether I see it on the internet or on TV! :)
Hello! I stumbled across your blog a couple of days ago and I've been looking through the archives ever since. I used to live in Japan and spent several summers there when I was younger, so looking at your pictures makes me nostalgic :) The real reason I found it, though, is because I am taking my husband to Japan for his first trip there next month, and I was looking for good food in Kansai. We're living in South Carolina now, so I think it will be a welcome change for him. Thanks for providing such great reviews and pictures, and of course addresses of restaurants! I have quite a few I'd like to check out now since we will be staying in Osaka. Keep up the good work!

I agree, I love how the internet triggers cravings or reminds you of stuff you used to eat, but haven't had in a long time! For me, it's great for being inspired and getting out of ruts when I feel like I'm eating the same 5 things again and again.
Yes the TV does influence my eating too Lori :)
I hope you both enjoy your trip Jennifer :)
Yes I agree the internet provides lots of inspiration, Marie :)
Take care everyone.

I love how YOU influence me to eat. That tuna sandwich with kimchee is a lunchsaver when I'm too busy with the dogs and garden. I've still got one jar of kimchee left and there is always bread and tuna around so....I had better grow my own napa cabbage. :-)
I'm not a huge fan of an donuts, but seeing this post kind of makes me want one, too. Although I think I'd prefer some melonpan...
Oh, and randomly, Jennifer and I went to college together - Jennifer, if you read this, hi, it's Debby (Ohamusu, hehe)! I hope you and Karl have fun in Japan next month! Dan and I went to Osaka for the first time last November and had a great time.
These made me hungry. I often go to a sushi restaurant in Coimbra, Portugal, but the prices for 20 pieces are a little higher. But I think it's well-spent money, after all.
On another topic I'd like to ask you: what is for you the best way of drinking sake? Cold or hot?
Great blog, by the way. Keep it going!
I guess we influence each other Rowena :)
That is cool how you know Jennifer, Ebidebby :)
I like cold sake in summer and warm sake in winter, Viriato :)
Take care everyone.

It really is amazing how much influence the internet and what I see has on what I eat. I love how it not only provides new recipes but also different ideas and the inspiration to create something new.
It is really amazing Deb :) I agree that the internet provides lots of ideas and inspiration too :)
Take care.
