around the neighborhood

It has been awhile since I've posted an "around the neighborhood" post....

Saw this Mini Cooper near our shopping arcade. The guy driving was still in it with the engine running...bad for the environment.

This one seemed to have been lowered because I was actually able to see the top of the car and I am short (5'1")! I was playing around with the Picnik software and came up with this shot.

This cute little truck was parked at a repair shop. Since the repair shop was for Daihatsu, I think it may be the same brand.

I didn't know it but most children in Japan learn how to ride a unicycle (though Satoshi says he can't). I often see them peddling around the neighborhood. On this day, I found all these unicycles parked at a nearby elementary school.

We found this action figure, well half of one. Satoshi says this is "Metoron Seijin" from the Ultraman series. I think the people who upkeep this garden area must've found it and placed it onto this branch.

Did you know that if a glove or keys are lost, people who find them hang them on a fence or leave them on a nearby wall? This is so that the person who lost them can pick them up when they pass by.

On Valentine's Day, we went to Suigetsu Park and some of the trees had started to bloom.

A week later, definitely starting to look more and more like Spring. More trees at Suigetsu Park have begun to bloom.

Found this red Mini on the way back from the park.

Anything exciting happening in your neighborhood?

I love this post. Thanks for the stroll! I clicked on the link with the dragonfly . . . soooo neat that you were able to capture them with your camera.

Dragonflies are semi-easy to "shoot" Jalna. They fly when they see you move, but if you stay real still and wait, they usually come back.

Take care.

Unicycles??? That is neat! Nice to see some minis around there, but right now, the only "exctiting" thing I can report is about the earthquake in Okinawa that I just read about on the news. Hope there won't be a tsunami.

Thanks Rowena, I just heard there was a huge one off of Chile 8.5 or something like that. Hope there won't be a tsunami for that one!

Take care.

Just picked up on that one too....eek! And here we've got nice weather (bulbs peaking out!) while east coast is getting slammed again. Scary...

We had rain all day yesterday and last night Rowena, the cold is back today but the sun peeked out for a bit. My tulips and freesia are starting to come out of the ground (pot). I saw that on TV too about the East coast, I think everyone wants Spring to come soon!

Take care.

The kids in Hanno do seem to enjoy doing the unicycle - far too difficult for me.

Ume (plum/apricots) are in bloom and I just love it, still cold, yet they appear... Best season in Japan, the farmers here are all busy preparing for the new year.

Spring to come soon, yes!

I guess the unicycles are nation-wide Martin :) Hope it starts to warm up in your area!

Take care.
