curry...

Last month I wrote about Kazokutei's Java-style curry udon.

Well, they sell their curry in re-heatable pouches, so I picked up 2 for our lunch the other day.

You can pour this over rice or noodles, your choice. We had this with udon.

Cook your udon as stated on the package. Heat up your pouch of curry. Pour over udon and garnish with some green onion.

Semi-homemade. A very filling and delicious lunch.

Since there were several mouthfuls of curry leftover, the next day's breakfast was an omlette covered with a spoonful (or two) of curry as inspired by Ono Kine Grindz's tweet.

Overall, this curry was spicy and delicious, though the 4th ingredient is lard, so it won't be something we eat all the time.

Reheatable pouches! Sounds like my style of cooking. I wonder if we have anything like that here.

I didn't have free internet at my last hotel (they wanted $13 a day). I was going through Adventures in Japan blog withdraws. I have internet now!!

Lovely looking lunch. I adore curry. I'll have to try it out on noodles when I get home. :)

I think it may have to do with all that lard in there Dennis, that makes it taste so good!

Jalna, they are those metallic pouches you put into boiling water to heat, I think there are different foods that come like this.

$13/day for internet? What a rip! Especially since there is Wi-Fi here and there Pocky, glad you were able to get your OAIJ fix :)

Take care everyone.

Kathy, Reid @ onokinegrindz mentioned he had omelette with curry in Tokyo, so I had to try it :)

Take care.

Amen to lard (for it's flavor-boosting qualities anyway). I still have some leftover from making that fried gnocchi.

Mmm...You are making me crave a curry noodle bowl at Goma Tei and I just ate dinner. ;-) It looks good on the omelette too.

Hey Kat - I'm like Dennis.... I love Japanese Curry. Except I wish it was a bit more spicy.

Definitely Rowena and to other natural fats too :)

I hope you get a chance to go back to Goma Tei Debinhawaii, maybe for lunch??

I've seen the spicy levels you've eaten Kirk and can understand why you would want it hotter :)

Take care everyone!
