onigirazu

If you follow us on Instagram, you'll know that I've been hooked on onigirazu lately.

It is a nice way to use up leftovers...like leftover namul for bi bim bap.

Bulgogi.

Roast chicken and corn rice.

Sometimes I make two different types like Buchi-uma chicken and croquette. Then Satoshi and I have one half of each for breakfast.

It is also a nice way to eat up leftover rice with okazu (prepared foods) from the market, like sesame chicken.

Fried fish.

Have you tried onigirazu? What types of fillings have you put in?

I've tried making a blt onigrazu. I think I'll need more practice to get them looking right. Onigrazu is just starting to appear here in Hawaii. I saw them at Don Quijote and a little shop opened up right across my office in town! score!so I don't think I'll get more practice making my own now. I was thinking of buying the molds when I go to Japan in October. V

Those look good. Nice compact way to pack leftovers for work the next day. I'll have to look for the mold on eBay.
