bambucha
Bambucha (huge) Spring cabbage at the market...298 yen (plus tax).
2 or so kilos (about 4 pounds).
Thinking about all the dishes I can make with this...

Looks so good , and it is cheap too ! I miss spring cabbage - it is really hard to get here in Victoria .To be honest I did not know what " spring cabbage " was till I lived in Japan ! And I grew up in Poland , where we DO like our cabbage !! Love your photos of all the cherry trees , they are blooming here too . I even had a "mini " Hanami under some cherry trees near my local Starbucks . I put Gion Tokuya on my list of places to visit next January - it looks really good. Oh, I will be careful eating the warabi mochi - thanks for the tip Kat .
me too, Jo, I didn't know about spring cabbage or spring anything for that matter until I moved here...also, I can now see why sometimes mochi can be a cause for choking/coughing :)
