things I'm liking (disliking)

DSC01611 Starting with disliking...I had seen this on Candy Blog and wanted to try it.

Well, big disappointment.

DSC01612 The chocolate was bloomed, on top of that the peanut butter was dried out, almost chalky..blah!

I thought maybe it had to do with the expiry date...nope, that was fine. I guess it just didn't travel too well over the Pacific.

DSC01585 Moving onto liking...If you look at my posts on beer, you'll see I prefer the dark beers.

I recently spotted this dark chocolate bar and had to try it.

Vosges' Smoke & Salt Caramel Bar is delicious.

Using Rogue Ale's Chocolate Stout, Alderwood smoked salt, burnt caramel and 70% dark chocolate, the bar has a nice snap and the caramel that oozes out is dark too.

I like the balance between sweet and salty.

DSC01613 Also liking this sesame candy by Joyva.

It is very hard so I would suggest breaking off little pieces and letting the hard candy melt before chewing on the sesame seeds.

DSC01614 And lastly, these Munchies. Jalapeno Cheddar, get ready for orange fingers and the spiciness tickles the back of your throat.

What have you been liking?

Hey Kat - The last time I was in Chicago I boguht a variety of Vosges bars for the Missus - She really loved the chocolate and mushroom bar. My friends loved Mo's Bar - the chocolate and bacon version.

That pb cup doesn't look good at all. But that chocolate bar sounds good. I saw that brand at Whole Foods before, but saw the steep price and wasn't sure if it was gworth it. I'll have to go check it out now!

That's too bad about Justin's, I like their peanut butter packets. The chocolate bar sounds delicious!

I love the Mo's Bar (Dark) too, Kirk :)

yeah, Vosges is kinda steep, Genki but most of the bars are worth it. You may want to check to see if they sell the mini sized bars, they are best especially if you just want a taste.

I bought some of their packets, K, can't wait to try them.

Take care everyone.

Definitely the Vosges, even if I will probably never see that here. Too bad about the peanut butter one though...chalky, yuck!

I notice the natural peanut butters sometimes dry out, Rowena :(

Take care.
